FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS ABOUT “ARISE: TOGETHER IN CHRIST”
Return to Arise home page..
1. When can I sign up
to be in a group?
Sign Up Sunday for the Fall 2008 season of ARISE will be the
weekend of September 13, 14. At each Mass t hat weekend you
will hear parishioners explain why they are excited about
ARISE at St Agatha’s and you will be able to sign up
for a group at all Masses that weekend. Sign up cards may
also be found in the church, rectory, school and faith formation
office to be completed at your convenience but prior to a
stated deadline (to be determined). You can also call the
rectory or a team member to sign up for a group.
2. What do I need to know when I
sign up for ARISE?
The sign up card asks for your name, address, telephone and
email (if you have one). It also asks you to list your preference
for a day and time to meet. Lastly, you will be asked if you
can host the meeting in your home.
3. Is there a fee to sign up?
No. Each season, you will be given a booklet to use for those
six weeks. If you are able to make a donation of $5 for the
season, that would help the parish defray some of the cost
connected with ARISE, but it is not a requirement for signing
up.
4. How large are the groups?
Each group will be made up of 8-12 people.
5. Where will the groups meet?
Some will meet in private homes; some will meet on the grounds
of St Agatha parish.
6. How long is each meeting?
Each meeting will last from 90-120 minutes.
7. How many meetings are there?
The Fall season will meet once a week for 6 weeks from October
to early November.
There will be a second 6 week season during Lent of 2009.
8. When do the groups meet?
Each group decides the day, time, and place it will meet.
9. How will I be assigned to a group?
You may gather your own group or you may be assigned by the
ARISE Team who will organize people according to dates, times,
and interest groups.
10. If I do not join a group this
Fall, may I join a group for another season? Certainly!
11. If I join the Fall group must
I continue with the same group? Or must I continue at all?
Each season will have its own separate sign-up time, however
it is possible that many groups will remain the same for each
season. We understand that people’s lives change and
you may need to change groups for any number of reasons. You
are free to let us know if you need to change. Similarly,
it may happen that you need to drop out of a group altogether
for any number of reasons and we understand that as well.
