Through the Parish Outreach Mission of St.
Agatha Parish, "we strive to proclaim and celebrate God's
presence and love, as we reach out to our sisters and brothers
near and far," in a variety of ways.
Our Pastoral and Social Mission is to maximize our gifts of
time, talent and treasure to serve those in need within our
parish, those in need in the surrounding community, and those
in need in other parts of the country and the world.
The St. Agatha Outreach Program was founded in the spring
of 1986. The specific mission of outreach at that time was
"to assist parishioners in need, especially the elderly",
and was limited to serving people within the geographical
boundaries of the parish. However, since that time, in response
to the call to serve a variety of people, the program has
expanded by leaps and bounds and now addresses the needs of
a diverse group of people. From serving the elderly to assisting
the poor with food and clothing, and from hosting children
from the Chernobyl Region of Russia and Belarus, to the establishment
of a vibrant Parish Nurse Program, the St. Agatha Parish community
has sought to answer Jesus’ call to serve.
There are three major elements in the Outreach Program:
Outreach within the parish, Outreach to the surrounding community,
and Outreach to people in other parts of the country and the
world.
