Receive the Light of Christ......

At our monthly liturgy, October 4, we honored St. Francis and installed those students who were appointed Peer Leaders. We congratulate Declan Coyne, Marisa Foley, Juliana Rogantino and Maeve Westwater (Gr. 6), Meagan Riley and Julia Simmons (Gr. 7), Richard Harrington, and Kayla Stravin (Gr. 8). These students have pledged themselves to leadership in our community’s Christian Service program and other student initiatives.

Fr. Casey presented each of the students a candle with the invitation: "Receive the Light of Christ". Just as their parents were invited at Baptism, they too are asked to keep the flame of Christ burning brightly in their daily lives. At the Mass, they took an oath to promote positive school spirit and good citizenship among their fellow students. They will be assisted in this task by a board of student representatives comprised of: Maura Noone, Ryan Tierney, Allison Kelly, Tommy MacDonald, Eileen Mai and Chanel Mazzone.
The board of representatives is a new addition to our school leadership program. In the past, we have found that there is not enough time for our Peer Leaders to perform their duties for the school without assistance from other students. Hence, the need for a student board to assist and advise them throughout the year.

We thank all of our middle school teachers who met often to read essays and offer their counsel to our Peer Leader coordinators, Mrs. Jensen and Mrs. Tierney.
