Appalachia Service Project 2018!

HIGH SCHOOL MISSION TRIP – July 21st – 28th, 2018: Register NOW!
Registration is now online for our high school mission trip to West Virginia! We have 30 high school spots and 15 adult chaperone spots on a first come, first serve basis. This is an incredible experience where we will work together to repair up to 7 homes for families of great need. The cost is $350 per teen and just $250 per adult chaperone. Every volunteer (teen and adult) will be responsible for helping to raise money for our trip. There are many costs that – excluding registration – add up to about $14,000.
Any additional financial support from our parishioners is greatly appreciated
Please note, once you submit a registration – YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO GO.
Don’t wait – the spots are filling fast! I look forward to making the trip with you!

Our young folks and chaperones prepared to depart for their Mission Trip on Saturday morning. Please pray for our group as we are traveling down as you read this to Salyersville, KY to serve those in need in Appalachia.
A sincere thank you to the generous response of parishioners who have volunteered to come on this week’s mission trip to KY. We are grateful for the generosity of Jerry McAdams, Catherine Vu, and Liz McVeigh who gave of their time and talent at the 12th hour to serve.

What is Life Teen you ask?

Life Teen is a Catholic youth ministry organization and movement originating in the United States. Life Teen’s ministry is a Eucharist-based ministry has the power to transform teens, transform parishes, and transform culture.

Have you heard of Life Teen at other parishes or seen our posts in the bulletin and wondered what we do every week? This letter about our latest theme at youth group – “Alive & Dangerous” – is addressed to you, parents and parishioners to give you a better understanding of what we’re doing here.  It allows you to more deeply trust that we are helping young people truly grow not just in faith, but in life.  This is where they feel accepted for who they are, where they are safe and can enter into their Catholicity unlike anywhere else.  I encourage you to read this letter with an open heart and encourage your teen to experience what millions of teens across the country have already started on their journey to holiness through attending Life Teen high school youth group.

LIFT worship nights have been around since 2006 and have been attended by thousands of Catholics of all ages across New England and beyond.  This is an incredible opportunity to come experience your faith in a modern and refreshing style.  This is a free event for any and all people in the surrounding area to come to St. Agatha’s for a thrilling worship experience! The night will include modern praise music led by a professional band, Adoration, and the opportunity to attend the sacrament of reconciliation.

If you have never been to Adoration or don’t know what it is, this is a time where Jesus in the Eucharist is placed on the altar in a golden case called a Monstrance for you to pray and worship.  It is a time for you to relax, be yourself with God, and enjoy modern-contemporary music that will blow you away.  Bring friends and family for this truly awesome experience!

It seeks to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community and to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
