As you may have heard, Cardinal Sean has decided to lower the Confirmation Age from the normal age of reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Archdiocese of Boston from around the age of 16 (or 10th or 11th grade) to around the ages of 13-14 (or 8th grade). There is no obligation to be confirmed at this age and parishes will receive and prepare candidates for Confirmation who request to receive the sacrament at an older age.
How this change is implemented over the next 3 years will be determined by each parish.
St. Agatha Parish will move forward with the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation for rising 10th-grade, rising 9th-grade, and rising 8th-grade Candidates during the 2024-2025 Faith Formation year.
Thank you for your interest, however, registration for the 2024 - 2025 Confirmation Sacramental Prep for grades 8 and up is closed, we are at full capacity. Please check the Parish bulletin and Website in May 2025 for the 2025 -2026 Confirmation Program and Online registration information.
